There are so many cool birds here in South Florida. I thought it would be fun to try posting pictures of as many different kinds as I could. So this is kind of a Life List of Florida bird photos.
My goal is to get one decent picture of each kind of bird, and to include plumage variations (e.g. male/female, breeding, juvenile) when possible. All photos were taken by me, and the birds were seen in the wild (not in zoos, even if they might have been wild birds). I use a 4th-edition Peterson Field Guide as my main hardcopy reference, and allaboutbirds.org as an online reference.
Because there are so many types of birds, I've separated them into sub-lists. This is what I have so far:
