The CID Circular October 2011 *************************************************** 01. International Certification Dance teachers can offer International Certification to their students. CID provides free of charge an official ratification of dance instruction, valid around the world. 02. CID Congress in Argentina Organized by the Cordoba Section of CID, will take place in Cordoba 11-12 January and in Termas de Rio Hondo 13-15 January 2012. 03. Scientific Conference in Latvia 29-31 March 2012 in Riga, Latvia. "Theory for practice in the education of contemporary society". Held by the Riga Teacher Training and Educational Management Academy, in cooperation with the Riga Section of CID. 04. Choreography competition in Poland In the Grand Theatre of Lodz 12-13 November 2011, held by the Sergei Diaghilev Association for Choreographic Art, under the auspices of CID. The President of CID will attend as guest of honour; members in Poland are welcome to meet him there. 05. Fellows in Dance Studies, USA International applicants are welcome to apply for a fellowship to teach undergraduate courses and attend seminars on strategies for interdisciplinary research and teaching. Appointment is for one year, renewable. 06. Seminar on dance studies, USA Advanced graduate students, recent doctorates and junior faculty are invited for an intensive summer seminar on interdisciplinary research and teaching in dance studies. Accepted applicants will have their costs covered for tuition, room and board and in addition receive up to $500 to cover travel expenses. 07. New CID Sections Several Sections of the CID have been established recently: Prahova in Romania; Tbilisi in Georgia; Pyongyang in North Korea; Cape Coast in Ghana; Tokyo in Japan; Montreal, Wolfville and Winnipeg in Canada. A Section corresponds to a city and unites all forms of dance in it. The CID Circular is sent every month to Members of the CID-UNESCO and over 100,000 other dance professionals in 200 countries.
