About the Humanitarian Society

About the Humanitarian Society

The Humanitarian Society, Inc. was founded in 1988 by "Dr. Wayne" T. Moses. He gathered concerned members of the community who volunteered to assist medically related organizations, as well as providing support for established non-profit groups. It is the goal of the Society to organize several activities annually to raise funds for the benefit of various local organizations and individuals or families in need.

Members of the Humanitarian Society have committed their time and energies to helping the less fortunate right here in South Florida. Their philosophy is that the monies are given here and their helping benefits should be derived here. The Humanitarian Society is an all volunteer organization with no administrative salaries. All funds are spent in our local areas.

The Humanitarian Society plans a wide variety of activities and fund-raisers each year. Tickets are very affordable so everyone is able to participate. Check out our calendar of events page for more details on these events.

All affairs are planned with understated elegance, meaning no wasted contributions or donations going for extensive and expensive side items such as fancy invitations. This means more dollars for charity and more affordable events for members and guests.

We invite you to attend any of these activities, meet the members, and see how the Humanitarian Society can provide you with a positive way to contribute to the quality of life in your own community and make the difference you so often hear about.

The Humanitarian Society Philosophy

The service we render to others is really the rent we pay for our room on this earth. It is obvious that man himself is a traveler. The purpose of this world is not to have and to hold, but to give and to serve.
