"Aravah" is an old song by the Feenjon Group, to which
the Rising Phoenix Dancers have been performing since
they were founded.
It originally was on an LP called
Jerusalem of Gold, and most of the songs
from there were re-released on a CD called
Salute to Israel.

Hebrew Lyrics | English Lyrics |
Arava arava ein ketz | Desert, desert without end |
Ein habokrim tara | The cowboys' eyes survey it |
Lo arar lo dardar lo ets | No Juniper, no Thistle, no tree |
ruach ba hamidbara | Wind is coming from the wilderness (desert) |
Lo arar lo dardar lo ets | No Juniper, no Thistle, no tree |
ruach ba hamidbara | Wind is coming from the wilderness (desert) |
Zemer habokrim yaale v'yivka | The song of the Cowboy rises and falls |
al merchavim avudim ad en gemer | Over an empty, endless expanse |
v'tizrach hachama v'tishka | The sun rises and sets |
umosif v'koleach hazemer | And the song continues to be sung. |
Arava arava ein ketz | Desert, desert without end |
Shnot alafim kamu | That has arisen over thousands of years |
Haboker al gav sus kadmon | The cowboy sits on the back of an ancient horse |
Badrachim shenashamu | Over roads that still breathe their soul. |
